Skills for Change presents the Employer Partner Awards. Following the success of our Diversity@Work and Pioneers for Change events, Skills for Change’s third signature event recognizes leaders and partners who have proven excellence in engaging immigrants within the business-related sector.

Our keynote speaker for the 2018 Employer Partner Awards is Mark Patterson! Mark is Executive Director of Magnet, a social innovation platform based at Ryerson University.

Employer Partner Awards Categories

Diversity Champion of the Year Award

This award goes to an employer which has provided significant opportunities and has implemented policies to support inclusivity, including but not exclusive to gender, LGBTQQIP2SAA, ethnicity, social mobility and disability, in the workplace.

Leadership in Business Mentoring Award

This award goes to an employer that has provided a significant mentoring to newcomers and immigrants through employment, placements, training and/or mentoring events.

New Partner of the Year Award

This award goes to an employer that has demonstrated significant enthusiasm and involvement in the delivery of Skills for Change’s programs and services with key indicators determining them becoming a long-term partner.

Small to Medium Business Champion Award

The Small to Medium Business Champion award recognizes a company who has 99 employers or less for their hiring practices of newcomers and youth. This employer provides significant learning and growth opportunities for new hires.
